Confucius Institute Head Teacher

The Confucius Institute seeks to appoint a Head Teacher to lead our team of Chinese teachers and to act as Head of our Swansea-based Chinese School.

The post holder will be expected to take overall responsibility for developing and implementing the Confucius Institute’s Chinese language programme for our five Confucius Classrooms, Associate Schools, and the Confucius Institute Chinese School in Swansea. In this capacity, the post holder will be responsible for the planning, delivery and assessment (QCF, GCSE, A-Levels, HSK, YCT) of the Chinese language programme, including offering academic leadership, support and guidance to a team of Hanban Mandarin teachers, local teachers and volunteers.

The teaching load of the Head Teacher is a minimum of 8 hours per week. It is expected that the role holder will teach a minimum of 2 hours at the Swansea Chinese School, which meets every Sunday during term time.
