Corporate Partnerships Officer

Birkbeck, University of London - Development and Alumni

Purpose and Main Duties

Since George Birkbeck created the London Mechanics’ Institution in 1823, the organisation that is now Birkbeck, University of London, has been the gateway for ambitious people to study in the evening. In so doing they not only change their own lives, but also make an immediate positive impact on business, the economy and our entire society.

As we approach our 200th anniversary in 2023, we plan to invest £150 million in widening our intake yet further and raising our standards yet higher. We anticipate that one-third of this investment will come from corporate partnerships and philanthropy as part of our ambitious fundraising campaign.

This is an opportunity to join Birkbeck at a particularly exciting time in its history, within a successful and growing Development and Alumni Department. We are recruiting a Corporate Partnerships Officer to identify, develop and manage a portfolio of 20-30 corporate partners, with a particular focus on generating donations of up to £100,000. The successful application will have strong relationship building capabilities and communications skills, as well as a keen interest in both higher education and business.
