This post is available until 30 September 2019 to provide specialist technical services and user training in support of research activities within the IGFS mammalian cell culture facility.

The successful candidate must have: 

  • Academic and/or vocational qualifications i.e. OND/ONC and/or NVQ level3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject (biological sciences, toxicology etc.)
  • Recent relevant work experience to include:

-  Demonstrable experience of working in a laboratory.

-  Experience of mammalian cell culture techniques.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant systems (such as using and maintaining a liquid nitrogen cell storage system), equipment (such as workings of a laminar flow, CO2 incubator,) and processes (culturing and freezing cells, cleaning of equipment and laboratory).
  • Well-developed understanding of relevant regulations and procedures including Health and Safety requirements.

Salary scale:   £23,557 - £27,285 per annum (potential to progress to £28,936 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution)
