We are currently seeking to appoint a dynamic Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Acting.  The post-holder will lead the delivery of acting within the department and will be responsible to the Subject Head of Theatre & Dance.

The BA (Hons) Acting and the BA (Hons) Theatre & Performance courses are designed to ensure that students develop sound practical skills and techniques in their discipline alongside a depth and breadth of contextual knowledge. Our aim is to create flexible, responsive, resilient, inquiring, skilful, innovative performers who can not only make a living in their chosen discipline but also help to redefine it.  Our graduates will know how to source and recognise industry opportunities and also how to be instrumental in creating them.  We are looking to create performers with agency.

The BA (Hons) Acting and BA(Hons) Theatre & Performance require a full-time Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Acting, with proven ability to deliver effective actor training based on sound methodologies, as well as to direct student theatre productions within a practical performance training context.  You will lead the acting provision within the department and will also be expected to deliver core curriculum content in contextual performance studies lectures. 

The successful candidate will have good knowledge and an established practice in the field of professional contemporary actor training and performance, preferably with some experience in recorded media and an established research and/or practice profile. You will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of lectures, seminars, workshops and tutorials.  Assessment will also be a key aspect of academic duties. You will have excellent communication skills and the commitment to design and deliver an outstanding learning experience for the students.  You will contribute to enhanced collaborative relationships with our industry partners and also to our Outreach and recruitment initiatives.  You will be joining a talented and ambitious team of specialists who prioritise the student experience within an exciting and developing subject area.
