The Islam-UK Centre at Cardiff University is pleased to invite applications for the Cardiff University Jameel Scholarships.

Founded in 2005, the Islam-UK Centre works towards the promotion of better understanding of Islam and the life of Muslims in Britain, through high quality teaching and research. Its activities address issues which are central to the situation of Muslims in contemporary Britain. The Centre provides unique training and research opportunities for Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

The following fully funded scholarships are available from September 2018:

Cardiff University Jameel PhD Scholarships

3 scholarships (starting 2018/19 academic year).

We are seeking exceptional UK resident applicants with a first class, or upper second class honours degree or masters degree. Research proposals in the following areas are particularly welcome: Education, Religious Leadership, British Muslim arts and heritage and Intergenerational and family relations. Other research themes will be considered but must demonstrate exceptional academic merit, potential and relevance to Muslims or Islam in the UK.

Funding Package

Each successful Cardiff University Jameel Scholar will receive full UK/ EU tuition fees and a stipend (£15,000 per year). Full-time PhD awards will provide funding for three years and will have £2,500 per annum for research support costs.
