The Role
Academic Registry is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, proactive and competent individual to support the ongoing development of the Assessment, Regulations and Appeals (ARA) team. The ARA team is made up of colleagues who are embedded within faculties and those who work more centrally within the Academic Registry Directorate. Members of the team work closely to develop processes and knowledge-based relationships in order to foster a culture of continuous improvement. This post will be embedded in one of the faculties and will report directly to the Head of Assessment and Regulations. Strong working relationships will be developed with the relevant Faculty Associate Dean, other embedded staff within the Faculty and the Faculty Student Course & Support team.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a starting salary of £37,889 per annum.

The Person
You will have experience of working in Higher Education with substantial knowledge in the areas of assessment and regulations. You will have contributed to cross-university projects and will have clerked and managed the business of high level committees. Working closely with faculty colleagues and with the Head of ARA you will take the lead in providing high level advice and support for all aspects of the University’s Regulatory Framework, whilst taking the lead on the development of specific areas of the academic regulations. This will include the provision of guidance and staff development. You will be able to identify opportunities for continual improvement and to proactively analyse and resolve complex issues relating to assessment and regulations. Excellent communication skills will allow you to effectively investigate and respond to academic appeals. You will have an awareness of student record systems and the types of data integrity issues that pertain to assessment and regulations.
