Postdoctoral Researcher

The Royal Veterinary College, University of London - Veterinary Epidemiology, Economics and Public Health Group

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Veterinary Epidemiology, Economics and Public Health Group. This is a fixed-term contract for 36 months, in the first instance. 

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of a project co-funded by The Racing Foundation and Horserace Betting Levy Board-funded, entitled ‘Does early life experience affect injury risk and performance in later life?’ This will include recruitment of a large Thoroughbred birth cohort, data collection, processing and statistical analysis, writing progress reports and publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals. You will be expected to communicate with stakeholders in the UK racing industry.

The ideal candidate would have a PhD in a relevant subject, good understanding of epidemiological principles, strong interpersonal communication skills and experience of analysing large datasets using advanced statistical methods. Knowledge of, or a keen interest in, the UK racing industry is essential. Experience of implementing and managing large-scale epidemiological field studies would be advantageous.
