The Post

We are seeking to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic and talented individual to join the Faculty of Health Sciences and Sport who can help us to continue to build on our success.

As a Lecturer in the Faculty you will play a key role in enhancing and developing the Faculty's teaching and scholarship expertise in nursing and health. You will be a qualified nurse with experience of teaching in the area of non-medical prescribing. You will lead our successful and innovative non-medical prescribing module and make a significant contribution to our BSc Nursing programme. You will also contribute to other programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Working in partnership with our NHS boards, you will take a strategic approach to developing curriculum content that meets the needs of students and stakeholders alike.

We are expanding our teaching and research expertise in the areas of non-medical prescribing, advanced clinical assessment and examination, public health, gerontology and ageing, and physical activity and health; we are also embarking on a programme of work to significantly increase our international profile. Description of Duties

  • Lead curriculum development of the non-medical prescribing module in line with NMC (2018) standards.
  • Plan, and deliver the non-medical prescribing module.
  • Undertake internationally excellent scholarly activity, high quality relevant teaching, appropriate administration and other activities in order to support and develop the academic profile of the Faculty
  • Demonstrate innovative approaches to teaching and support for students through the use of a wide range of learning resources and appropriate pedagogic practice
  • Undertake student assessment as required, including the preparation of assignments and setting and marking of examinations
  • Carry out administrative tasks and other reasonable duties as determined by the Head of Health Sciences.
