Manchester Metropolitan University - Operations, Technology, Events and Hospitality Management

Are you an expert in Information Technology Development? Do you have what it takes to pass on your skills whilst conducting cutting-edge research?

Who We Are

Manchester is one of the most extensive higher education centres in Europe and the most popular city for students in the UK. We are at the heart of it, delivering cutting-edge skills to people from 120 countries – 94% of whom go into work or further study within six months of graduating. Since 2006, we have invested £350 million into our exceptional campus to deliver our vision of being the best modern university, and we continue to achieve and innovate every day.

Where You’ll Work:

Our Faculty of Business and Law has an international reputation for delivering high quality teaching and research. We strongly value commercial collaboration, teaching innovation and thought leadership in research, and we employ experts in a wide range of disciplines. Our record of peer-reviewed publications speaks for itself, and we offer a broad spectrum of undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and commercial programmes, including sector-leading degree apprenticeships, delivering exceptional employability and critical thinking skills. At the heart of the Faculty, the Information Systems team is a high-calibre group of research academics focusing on the provision of cutting-edge teaching and learning in IS across a range of programmes.

About the role:

Due to a number of retirements and significant growth in student enrolment, we are seeking two high-calibre academics to shape teaching in Information Technology Development. You will enjoy close involvement in a broad range of degree programmes, including our BSc in Business Technology and the sector-leading Digital and Technology Solutions degree apprenticeship – so you will be central to everything we do.

About You:

You will almost certainly possess a doctorate in a relevant field, backed by a proven record of publishing academic research at quality grade 3 or above (as defined by the Research Excellence Framework). However, we are also keen to hear from professionals with strong industry backgrounds who wish to make the move into academia. Whatever your experience, you will be a skilled teacher and mentor, with everything it takes to build on our international reputation for tuition and research.
