Salary: Grade 9: £50,618 to £56,950 per annum, with potential to progress to £65,997 through sustained exceptional contribution


The Sheffield School of Architecture is making a strong commitment to strengthening disciplines and increasing its research profile, leadership, and learning and teaching through investment in key areas. We are seeking applications for a full-time Senior Lecturer in Architecture, ideally with a focus on critical spatial theory, to make a positive contribution to our ambition. You will have a strong research track record of high quality publications and other forms of innovation at an international level, evidence of external funding capture and a proven ability to foster and support the research of colleagues. You will also have the capacity to develop and lead successful research projects and teams.

As a member of the Design, Engagement and Practice (DEP) research group, you will be working closely with colleagues on Design theory and Spatial practice to develop the international research standing of the School.

You will have a PhD (or equivalent relevant experience) in a relevant architectural discipline, ideally in the field of design theory. You will lead our PhD by Design strand and provide co-leadership to our largest Master’s course, the MA in Architectural Design, and teach critical spatial theory and architectural design modules for this course.
