Maintenance Services Attendant

University of Reading - Maintenance & Business Services

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Maintenance Services team, within Estates and Facilities, as a Maintenance Services Attendant. Maintenance Services deliver reactive and preventative maintenance to University owned properties across all our campuses and sites. You will need the confidence and ability to work on your own as well as support other team members to carry out routine maintenance tasks, such as inspection of water softeners, replacement of filters on air handling units and associated equipment. Other duties will include the general upkeep of mechanical plant / boiler rooms and the replacement / cleaning of fluorescent lights and diffusers.

You will have:

  • Knowledge of preventive and day to day reactive maintenance issues.
  • Relevant experience in a similar environment.
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical/electrical plant.
  • Broad knowledge of associated building trades.
  • A willingness to work flexibly on a number of different issues whilst maintaining a high standard of work - working with other teams and on your own.
  • An understanding of Health & Safety.
  • General IT Knowledge.
  • A current driving licence as this role involves travel between campuses.
