2 x Postdoctoral Research Associate

University of Roehampton - Life Sciences

We are looking for two Postdoctoral Research Associates to join our Life Sciences department as
part of our engagement with Oxford Cannabinoids Technology (http://oxcantech.com). It is
expected that applicants will have research interests which complement the project and will be
able to assist the Principal Investigator as required and independently where necessary.

The role is fixed-term for two years.

Oxford Cannabinoid Technologies is a biopharmaceutical company focused on researching,
developing, and licensing cannabinoid-based compounds and therapies. Its vision is to become
a global leader in cannabinoid-based therapies improving the quality of life for millions of
patients. The company has partnered with Prof Fulvio D’Acquisto
(https://loop.frontiersin.org/people/23954/overview) for an exciting drug discovery program
aimed at the identification and characterisation of novel and innovative anti-inflammatory and
immunomodulatory drugs of the cannabinoids family.

The project is ideal for someone that is interested in developing an industrial or academic
career in drug discovery and would like to deepen his/her understanding of the therapeutic
benefits associated with immunomodulatory/anti-inflammatory therapies. The research plan is
based on a variety of approaches and experimental systems including human and murine cells
– experimental models of inflammation and immunity. For enquiries relating to this position
please contact Professor Fulvio D’Acquisto (Fulvio.Dacquisto@roehampton.ac.uk)

This is an exciting time for the University; our new £35m state-of-the art library has just opened
and we are continuing to develop a number of external partnerships across the globe.

We have a strong emphasis on supporting our students to reach their full potential in order to
launch themselves onto successful graduate careers and we are embarking on a radical
programme of enhancement in learning and teaching across all our academic areas. ‘In the
Complete University Guide 2018, Roehampton is the highest-ranked modern university in
London. Modern, or new, universities are defined as those granted university status post-1992.
Complete University Guide does not itself define modern universities and does not produce a
separate league table in which these are ranked.’

The University has a beautiful, vibrant parkland campus, is located in the heart of south-west
London and offers excellent facilities for researching, learning, teaching and working.

The closing date for completed applications is: Wednesday 9 May 2018

It is expected that interviews will be held on: during early June 2018

The University is an equal opportunities and ‘disability confident’ employer.
