Salary: £29,799 to £32,548 per annum

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral Research Fellow position to join the research group of Dr Zoë Walters, who has an on-going programme of research in the area of regulation of histone modifications in development and disease.

The successful applicant will utilise molecular biology techniques to evaluate the role of the histone modifying enzymes in developmental disorders and soft tissue sarcomas, including paediatric rhabdomyosarcomas (RMS).

You will have a PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in a biological sciences subject, with skills in molecular biology techniques and evidence of independent research. In addition to technical knowledge and skills, you should be highly motivated, capable of independently designing experiments, innovating, and contributing intellectually to the direction of the project. Experience of human tissue culture and molecular biology techniques including chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) are desirable. Skills in computing and bioinformatics, as well as handling large-scale data sets would be an advantage.

Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD.  Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.

You will join the academic unit of Human Development and Health: Which focuses on world leading research into human development and the mechanisms that underline its impact on health and disease. In addition you will work closely with research partners at The Institute of Cancer Research, London.
