This is a senior leadership post within the University, reporting to the Academic Scientific Co-Lead Dr Mark Turner, which will play a crucial role in leading and developing the sustainable infrastructure for paediatric research, working in collaboration with commercial companies; scientific partners and representatives from European countries.

This is a challenging post which demands an ability to work flexibly with partners across Europe on a daily basis; to negotiate and reconcile different perspectives using skill, judgement and experience. You will lead and collaborate with a team of leading paediatric researchers, trialists, project managers and academics across Europe, with the aim of improving child health through the development of an infrastructure and pan-European clinical research operations that facilitate high quality research. The post holder will play a critical role in setting up services for the pan–European network in collaboration with existing national and specialty network partner.

You will have significant experience in the establishment and management of paediatric research infrastructures and services. A degree (or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience) is essential to the role. A background in paediatrics, health science, health services or a related subject will be required.  Experience in project management and directing teams across disciplines; working with diverse clinical research portfolios to tight deadlines will be required. As will experience with the design, conduct and analysis of research projects with specific experience in managing paediatric portfolios. The post holder will be familiar with the clinical research infrastructure and policy within UK and other European countries. The role will require travel to partner research sites within Europe.

The role will enable you to gain experience in leading a multidisciplinary team, in networking, project management and collaborating with leading researchers in academic medicine and clinical research across Europe. The post will be based within the University of Liverpool, Department of Women’s and Children’s Health at Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust.
