Peer Support Co-ordinator

The Students’ Union at the University of Bath is seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic individual to support the development of peer support provision across the University. As part of the Peer Support team you will be responsible for developing and enhancing peer mentoring, postgraduate mentoring, placement mentoring and peer assisted learning (PAL) schemes.

The post-holder will ensure the success of schemes by working collaboratively with various stakeholders including Students’ Union staff, academic staff, professional services staff and student volunteers. The post-holder will be responsible for supporting academic departments where peer support schemes are already in place, as well as liaising with departments to set up new projects. The post-holder will also be responsible for recruiting, training and supporting student volunteers.  

The post holder will also liaise with staff and students in HEIs across the country to benchmark against Peer Support developments in other organisations.

Previous experience of training and supporting volunteers is essential.  The post-holder will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, as well as being able to demonstrate a good use of initiative. The ability to prioritise a heavy workload, multi-task and work in a team as well as independently is essential. Knowledge of peer support and experience working in a HE setting is highly desirable.
