Each day we communicate with staff, students and the general public and we are committed to making sure the way we are communicating is not only timely, engaging and professional, but is also constantly evolving to match their wants and needs and the way we work.
In this key role, you’ll be instrumental in driving and informing change, as well as in communicating new initiatives to, and from, the department.
A large part of the role will be based on gathering, analysing and responding to feedback so you will not only need to enjoy talking to people and getting to know what motivates them, but you will also be experienced and knowledgeable with a range of feedback collection methodologies. As part of this you will also be responding to complaints, so good customer service is a must.
You will be expected to regularly engage with a range of people across the department, pulling out and sharing good news stories along the way. It’s important that you can build up good relationships with all ahs staff to ensure you are the central point for all communication activities.
Strategic and organised, you’ll also need a creative and inquisitive mind and be able to adapt and flex your approach and styles daily. As the link between the central University Communications team and the department, you’ll need to be strong in keeping people in the loop. You’ll also need engage with a variety of stakeholders within the department, too. Positive, proactive and determined you won’t be afraid of getting your hands dirty.
This role is offered on a 0.6 FTE (21.9 hours per week) basis. We are fairly flexible and will discuss working patterns at interview. Interviews are likely to take place week commencing 30 April 2018.
Here are some of the benefits of working here:
- A generous pension scheme
- Up to 26 days annual leave per year, eight banks holidays and five extra discretionary days (pro-rata)
