Faculty / Directorate
The Faculty of Business and Law consists of Leicester Castle Business School and De Montfort Law School. The Law School is one of the country’s largest and diverse Law Schools, delivering a full range of professional and academic qualifications. There has been substantial investment in staffing, with a 25% increase in staff to take the team to over 100 full and part time staff, supporting around 1,500 undergraduate and postgraduate students. Our modern purpose-built teaching and office facilities and stand-alone Law Library are complemented by Leicester Castle’s fine historic courtrooms. Our learners include full-time, weekend and distance-learning students.

The Law School reflects the strong social justice ethos and values of the University in its mission, “To transform justice through knowledge.” We equally value research (with one of the country’s strongest Criminal Law and Justice research teams), teaching (with higher levels of student satisfaction and achievement) sand professional practice (with significant investment in Clinical Legal Education and the expansion of the postgraduate professional education team).

There are 2 positions available.

The role focuses on the delivery and development of postgraduate professional property law, as part of the legal practice and other professional legal courses. It will also encompass the development of new provision post-SQE and, potentially, other short-course provision. The School is developing a pro-bono and public interest Law Centre and the role will also be involved in supporting students undertaking legal work in the areas of Private and Commercial Property law.

Ideal Candidate
You will be an experienced professional in the field of Residential and/or Commercial property. Through experience, you will have demonstrated a commitment and aptitude for the development of people who are new to working in this area of professional legal services.

You will ideally possess a creative and intellectually curious nature, with an interest in improvement and change and a concern for how processes can be improved and the evidence base for sound decision-making. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an infectious passion for their subject. Provisional Interview Date: w/c 14 May 2018
