St Andrew's Healthcare

Location: Northampton base with travel to internal and external partner sites

Firstly, a bit about us

St Andrew’s is the UK’s leading mental healthcare charity with an excellent and well-deserved reputation as a provider of specialist mental healthcare, and a top 20 charity overall.  We have a multi-disciplinary team of over 4,500 staff who deliver world-class, innovative and holistic care each day across our five locations.

As a charity, all of our profits are re-invested into new services and new facilities, a legacy which has carried on through our 178 year history.  Today we proudly continue to build world-class mental healthcare services – with Europe’s largest adolescent unit recently opened.  And because we’re independent, we have the flexibility to make a real difference in the world of mental health.  Joining us is your chance to make a big contribution to the lives of some of society’s most vulnerable people.

The role and person

Research has become a key focus for St Andrew’s and our staff are committed to developing new and effective therapeutic strategies based upon a sound evidence base. This is driven by St Andrew’s recently established Research Centre which coordinates the research activities within the organisation, ensuring coordination and research excellence.

The post holder’s role will primarily be to drive the activities of the Research Centre from idea generation through to the dissemination of research findings. We are seeking a researcher with a PhD, ideally in a related discipline (e.g. psychology, mental health), who has at least two years’ experience in designing qualitative and quantitative research studies in addition to data analysis and report writing.

The role will contribute to the design, management, completion and dissemination of high-quality research and service evaluation projects. The post holder will also provide support and advice for a wide variety of research and evaluation projects being carried out by other members of staff at St Andrew’s.

And in return?

Our benefits include: a pension, life cover, sickness policy on a par with the NHS, excellent training, 35 days holiday (including bank holidays), cycle to work scheme and childcare vouchers.  You will also be part of a great team, giving you plenty of exposure to mentoring and coaching and extensive opportunities for continuing professional development, training, and career progression.

If you feel this is you then we’d love you to apply here.
