INSPIRE secondary science and maths teacher training (PGCE)

Imperial College London

Do you wish to inspire a future generation of chemists, engineers, mathematicians, and physicists?

If so, the INSPIRE PGCE may be for you, and you could be entitled to a tax-free bursary of up to £28,000*

The INSPIRE PGCE is an intensive 10 month programme that differs to other teacher training routes, and is ideal for those who wish to be exceptional science and maths teachers.

We are unique in placing a particularly strong emphasis on science communication, and only accept high calibre trainees with at least a Master’s level qualification. By doing so, our aim is to place as many teachers with real-life STEM experience in the classroom to inspire as many students as possible.

With the INSPIRE PGCE, you can become a newly qualified teacher (NQT) in just 10 months after which you will join a network of colleagues who will help shape the future of STEM education.

Places are now available for applicants who:

  • Have, or will have, a STEM Master’s or PhD degree by August 2018
  • Are passionate about science communication.

Benefits of INSPIRE PGCE:

  • Receive a tax-free bursary of up to £28,000*
  • Get hands-on teacher training in London-based secondary schools
  • Work alongside Imperial researchers on bespoke activities to inspire the future generation of STEM practitioners
  • Engage with pupils in over 10 schools
  • Benefit from an exceptional staff to student ratio.
