You will be one of a team of technicians supporting the operation of, and provide technical support within the School of Engineering laboratories and associated facilities, particularly the laboratories used for Chemical Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching.  Duties may include, but are not limited to: operation and operational maintenance of equipment and instruments; determining laboratory requirements and keeping up to date with relevant Health and Safety legislation, codes of practice and regulations.

You should hold a National Certificate in Science (or Equivalent Level 3 Qualification) or equivalent relevant technical experience. You will have post apprenticeship work experience in a relevant technical role as well as a thorough knowledge of relevant Health and Safety procedures.

You should have excellent team working and communication skills and demonstrate technical and problem solving capabilities. Also you will demonstrate good organising abilities in order to meet deadlines.

Please note you must be able to work after hours during term time to ensure readiness of teaching laboratories for practical classes, for which time off in lieu is given.

This post is available fixed term for 6 months.
