Project and Information Manager (Maternity Cover)

This post is full time and is available from 14th May 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter, and is fixed term for 9 months in the first instance, with a possibility of extension to 12 months.

The Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation (ECCI) is looking to appoint a Project and Information Manager in the ClimateXChange Secretariat to cover for a period of maternity leave. ClimateXChange is Scotland’s Centre of Expertise on Climate Change. The small ClimateXChange Secretariat team is based in ECCI.

Applicants should have experience of, and enthusiasm for, connecting research and policy. You should have excellent communication skills, and in particular have experience of writing for a policy audience. A background in climate or energy is highly desirable, as you will lead on energy and climate project portfolios. Good organisational skills and experience in project management are essential, and experience specifically in research project management is desirable.

Excellent relationship management skills are essential. You will be a team player with the ability to understand stakeholder needs and how to meet them swiftly and effectively. You should have drive and determination to deliver, with attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously and prioritise your own work load. You will be responsible for, or be required to oversee, information on project reporting in the Secretariat, so experience in information management is essential.

You should have experience in organising and running events, and good facilitation skills. Web skills are highly desirable.
