Applications are invited for the above post in the Faculty of Science & Engineering which is one of the newest divisions at the University but is expected to become one of the biggest as the University rolls out its detailed, long term plans.The University expects to triple its number of engineering students to over 3,000 within the next few years.The first intake of UNNC engineering students graduated in 2012 and Master of Science degrees will be offered in a range of subjects in the near future.

Candidates must have a recognised postgraduate degree (or equivalent at master level) in architecture, architectural design, digital architecture or urban design. Candidates must have teaching experience in English-speaking University and with excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Knowledge and experience of preferably postgraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant architecture are necessary. Experience of supervising bachelor and graduate students and experience of design studio teaching, tutorial or lecture-based teaching at undergraduate level is essential. Candidates should have the ability to communicate with clarity on complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers, using high level skills and a range of media. Candidates must have design practice experience and have the ability to lead on projects and student competitions.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of architecture offered by the Department of Architecture and Built Environment, to play a lead role in design studio teaching and studio unit organisation. The successful candidate will also be expected to support teaching of taught modules in the undergraduate architecture programme as well as providing support to design studio arrangement, architecture exhibitions/workshops, student competitions and student engagement activities with architectural practices.

Salary will be within the range of RMB 299,872 - RMB 358,062 per annum depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments.

The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of 3 years starting 1 September 2018. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
