Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Image Analyst position within the Light Microscopy Facility at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB), Cambridge.
The Light Microscopy Facility at the LMB is a state-of-the-art research resource managing more than 20 advanced microscopy systems. The team offers comprehensive support encompassing all stages of the microscopy workflow, from image acquisition to in-depth data analysis. Interacting with groups across the LMB, the postholder will join a team of image analysts and play a pivotal role in developing new methods, applying algorithms and creating workflows for the analysis of images acquired in the Light Microscopy Facility. Their expertise will directly contribute to furthering the Institute’s research endeavours.
In the facility, a collaborative environment, fostering knowledge exchange and teamwork aims to address complex challenges. This role also offers excellent opportunities for professional development, allowing you to further your expertise and understanding of image analysis of light microscopy data.
Applicants should have a PhD (or be due to complete a PhD within 6 months) in a relevant subject such as image processing, computer vision or biological sciences, ideally with significant experience in image processing and analysis. Experience of computer programming, such as Python, Matlab, scripting or macros in Fiji/ImageJ is a requirement.
