About Us
King’s Climate & Sustainability (KCS) is a university-wide initiative established in 2023 to step up our response to the challenge of climate emergency and global sustainability, and to accelerate and connect research, education and operations across King’s. With an ambition to become a net zero institution, King’s has already made progress to embed sustainability into our operations. We are uniquely positioned to amplify, connect and scale impactful research, education and action, build new connections between fields of study – including technological, socio-economic, legal, geopolitical – and create meaningful external partnerships to deliver strong, distinctive and visible contributions to the challenge of achieving just and fair transitions to sustainability.
About the Role
The Senior Sustainability Engagement Officer will be responsible for leading and managing the engagement aspects of this strategic priority for King’s. Key responsibilities include the development of an engagement plan and associated activities, managing projects in support of the King’s Climate & Sustainability Action Plan, leading the King’s Climate Action Network (CAN) and engaging with students, staff and external partners to champion sustainability.
This post requires a motivated and highly collaborative individual who is passionate about making a difference to climate and sustainability. The successful candidate will have experience of engagement activities, developing plans, leading projects and managing events, together with experience of a similar practical role within a complex organisation. This role allows the post-holder to develop their skills and gain experience as a sustainability professional, while contributing to a vibrant and inclusive sustainability culture at King’s.
This is a hybrid role, with at least 2 days a week in the office. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate requests for fully remote working.
