We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic academic to join the School of Law as a Lecturer in Global Law and Digital Technology. We particularly welcome candidates with expertise in law and digital technologies from a perspective that captures the variety of international practices in political and jurisprudential contexts. Further specialised research interests would also be welcome, including for instance – but not limited to – digital and platform economy, information and media law and policy, innovation and sustainability in the digital age.
You should have an established teaching and research profile as well as a proven commitment to promoting the student experience. The post will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and assessment as well as dissertation supervision in the IT/IP/Media Law Subject Area both at undergraduate and postgraduate level, particularly in the Global Law LLB programme.
The successful candidate will play a full part in the collegiate life of the Subject Area and the Edinburgh Law School and will be expected to develop and execute a realistic and achievable research plan.
The School of Law strives to be a diverse and inclusive community. We particularly welcome applications from candidates belonging to groups that have been traditionally under-represented in the subject.
As well as a CV and cover letter, candidates are required to upload an outline (maximum 2 pages) of their research plans as part of the application process. Candidates are also asked to identify their two strongest publications (which may include work under review or accepted but not published) and explain why - in their view - these publications are both original and significant (a form is provided to facilitate the completion of this step). Candidates who are shortlisted for interview will be asked to submit what they consider to be their two strongest publications where available.
