We’re a flexible, progressive, open-minded, and inclusive employer with driven, clever and curious people from around the world. SPJL is now looking to recruit for the following position:

Senior Careers Consultant:

We are seeking a creative, well-organised, good communicator as our Senior Careers Consultant to plan, manage and deliver Careers Support and Advice provision at SPJL. This is an exciting opportunity to join us as you will be able to contribute to the development of the new school and have a direct input into shaping processes and procedures.

Responsibilities:

You will take overall responsibility for the leading, planning and operation of Careers Provision, including collaborating with academic staff, and engaging with external employers and other key stakeholders who can support careers provision at SPJL.

You will support the aspirations and graduate outcomes of our diverse student community. You will support their career planning by providing high-quality information, advice and guidance and through organising practical opportunities for students’ personal and professional development.

You will deliver relevant and engaging careers workshops and presentations within the curriculum, and ensure students engage with and successfully navigate SPJL’s Professional Readiness Programme (PRP).

Profile requirements

You will have a good understanding of contemporary practice in careers education, information, advice, and guidance and, ideally, experience of working in UK Higher Education.

You will need to be well-organised with excellent communication skills, alongside MS Office skills, and the ability to work with and adapt to IT systems.

You will be self-reliant with a flexible ‘can-do’ approach in order to undertake the work required for a start-up Higher Education institution.  You will be committed to continuous improvement and delivering an excellent student experience.

SPJL is innovative and looks to recruit individuals with strong professional expertise combined with integrity. We are offering a competitive salary, a flexible benefits package including a discretionary performance bonus scheme of up to 20% of your prorated annual salary.
