The role of the Development Manager (Individual Giving) is a newly created one to increase fundraising at Christ Church during the 500th Anniversary Campaign. It is a key position within an expanding and thriving Development & Alumni Office which will help capitalise the opportunities of support from Christ Church’s large alumni base in the lead up to and during Christ Church’s 500th anniversary. The successful candidate will work closely with Christ Church’s extensive database of old members and using their track record of success will demonstrate their ability to build strong and lasting professional relationships.
The post holder will create tailored stewardship and prospect cultivation plans, as appropriate, and as agreed with the Deputy Development Director (Philanthropy). They will be responsible for implementing these plans, ensuring that precise and accurate records are confidentially maintained for all contacts. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are sought, along with the energy and resilience to be a self-starter and motivating individual with an aptitude to work independently but also as part of a team.
The post holder will undertake independent meetings with potential donors at Christ Church, elsewhere in the UK and potentially overseas. The ideal candidate will bring strong organisational and time management skills and be adept at managing information and scrutinising data. Ideally the role is Oxford-based, but applicants based in London/South East willing to be in Oxford for one or two days a week are welcome to apply. The postholder will be expected to travel within the UK and potentially to the USA to meet prospective donors.
The post is offered on a permanent, full time basis, 37.5 hours per week. Salary is University Scale Grade 7 (currently £36,024 - £44,263, with a discretionary range up to 48,350).
