The University is seeking to appoint a Registrar with effect from September 2018. Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor and sitting on the senior management team the Registrar ensures that Council and senior University officers receive appropriate strategic policy advice. The Registrar is also responsible for providing leadership and management for the professional support services of the University and acts as secretary to both Congregation and Council. Working alongside the Vice-Chancellor, this is the therefore a key administrative post in the University.

With a staff of 1,650 and an annual revenue budget of £110million, the Registrar oversees the University Administration and Services (UAS) division, having line management of eight significant professional services departments. Estates Services; Academic Administration Division; Council Secretariat; Divisional Secretaries; Legal Services; Human Resources; Planning and Resource Allocation Section and the Research Services.
