A talented individual is sought to lead student recruitment activity within the Asia, Africa and Middle East Student Recruitment Team. The appointed individual will likely have direct management of recruitment activity in Japan and Korea and will be the recruitment strategic lead into Warwick's outpost offices in China, Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as managing a team of recruitment officers (currently 3) responsible for other markets within the defined region.

Working closely with the Assistant Director of SROAS (Head of Student Recruitment), other student recruitment regional managers, and colleagues in professional services, the post will be responsible for external student recruitment activity, with the aim of recruiting high quality undergraduate and postgraduate students to all Warwick programmes from within the specified regions. The postholder will be a highly motivated and effective leader and people manager with experience of, and a deep understanding of higher education and international student recruitment.


The Student Recruitment, Outreach and Admissions Service (SROAS) is responsible for developing and delivering the University's widening participation, student recruitment and admissions strategies, and delivering related services across the pre-applicant/applicant journey, from initial familiarisation with higher education through application to enrolment. It provides integrated widening participation and outreach, admissions and student recruitment activity. Each office works closely together taking a team approach to ensure the enrolment of the most talented students at the University. Colleagues in SROAS work closely with other university offices, in particular University Marketing, Strategic Planning and Analytics, the Academic Office and Teaching Quality.

The SROAS comprises three offices, each headed by an Assistant Director:

Widening Participation and Outreach takes responsibility for the University's widening participation strategy, the University's Access Agreement, widening participation programmes and relationships with key funders such as the Sutton Trust.

Admissions is responsible for providing an efficient and responsive admissions service to applicants for programmes of study at all levels, and to internal Departments.

Student Recruitment is responsible for the full range of student recruitment activities on and off campus, and relationships with key stakeholders in home and overseas markets to meet University admissions targets.

The aim of the Student Recruitment Office is to seek out talent wherever it may reside, and to generate the highest quality enquiries, applications and conversion activity to meet university student recruitment targets at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The Student Recruitment Office comprises 5 teams:

  • Events and Support Team
    • responsible for the planning and delivery of University Open Days
    • Delivery of conversion events such as Post-offer open days, and calling campaigns
    • Management of Warwick Welcome Service and student ambassadors
    • Organisation of other on-campus student recruitment events: Warwick visit days, campus tours, individual visitors
    • Enquiry response
    • Digital recruitment events
    • Student recruitment operations

External facing teams responsible for recruitment from specified regions:

  • UK and UK International
  • Europe and The Americas
  • Asia, Africa, & Middle East
  • Additionally capacity to create dedicated management of our sponsor and external scholarship stakeholders is also being established.
