Academic Opportunities

As part of Birkbeck’s exciting strategic plans under our Vice Chancellor, Sally Wheeler, we are pleased to share the following recruitment opportunities in 2024.

We are seeking to make five academic appointments. These roles will be instrumental to our growth and development in the years to come, and will help us to continue to thrive as one of the world’s leading universities.

Three of these roles are within the Faculty of Science. The Faculty of Science at Birkbeck, University of London, houses state-of-the-art facilities which support world-leading research and provide a stimulating learning experience. The faculty offers a range of innovative in-person, hybrid and online courses, delivered by leading academics and researchers from our three schools: Computing and Mathematical Sciences, Natural Sciences and Psychological Sciences.

Two of the roles are within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences offers an invigorating and enriching educational experience, built upon our international reputation for excellence in research and teaching. Our vibrant student community is taught by internationally renowned researchers doing applied research, with an exciting range of expertise from our four schools: Creative Arts, Culture and Communication, Historical Studies, Social Sciences and Birkbeck Centre for Counselling.
