The University

An amazing place to work

Loughborough University is a great place to work. Our employees are proud to be part of our continuous success and are an essential part of achieving all that we do. We want to continue to build our thriving and inclusive community of high calibre staff from across the globe.

It’s not just students that arrive at Loughborough for the first day of their future – we want our staff to feel the same, too.

The University is committed to equitable, diverse, and inclusive environment – to create a community where both students and staff feel valued and are able to realise their full potential.

The diverse backgrounds, characteristics and opinions within our community are our great strength and are key to our pursuit of delivering educational excellence, enterprise, research, and professional services.

We welcome applications from people from diverse backgrounds and minoritised groups as they are currently under-represented within our community.

As part of our commitment for our Tutor and Academic Practical Support roles, we offer training and development opportunities for candidates who do not hold the mandatory qualifications.

Reward and Benefits

Whether you’re looking to start or progress your career, we can provide a vibrant, dynamic experience. The atmosphere on campus is friendly and relaxed and offers fantastic facilities for staff to use including sports facilities, food and drink establishments, a bank, hairdressers, and a dentist.

Our excellent flexible benefits package is designed to offer support and incentives that fit in with, and appeal to all our staff across different career and life stages. These benefits include a generous holiday allowance; childcare support, discounted gym membership, and staff counselling. Staff can pick and choose the benefits they want to use throughout their time with us.

We’re a firm believer that employees should be recognised for their hard work and contribution to the University’s growth and success. Our reward schemes help us deliver on this belief.

Recognition is awarded in the form of salary increases that are paid to an individual annually in addition to annual cost of living and incremental pay increases

Employees can also be rewarded with a one-off cash payment. These payments are designed to recognise an individual’s outstanding contribution or performance, completed through short-term additional work or a one-off project.

Strong team work and collaborative working are extremely important to us here at Loughborough University, which is why we have a reward scheme for exceptional team performances too. The joint efforts of a team can be recognised with a non-cash award such as a theatre visit, golf tournament, spa visit, dining experience or wine tasting – the choice is yours!

For a colleague coming from outside of the United Kingdom, we offer a fixed additional amount of £4,000 towards the cost of Visa, NHS and travel costs to relocate to the UK. This is in addition to other relocation allowances.

We contribute to relocation expenses of new staff who are moving more then 20 miles to the London campus and 30 miles to Loughborough campuses. This includes relocation expenses of 10% of gross salary and £2,000 towards cost of removal of personal belongings.

Employees are entitled to up to 44 days annual leave per year. (Inclusive of Bank Holidays & University closure days)

Loughborough University offers all employees the opportunity to join the Bupa Cash Plan 100 Scheme. Health cash plans are designed to help you cover the costs of some routine healthcare expenses and offer cash back towards a variety of health and well-being benefits, including dental and optical fees.
