Loughborough University is a great place to work. Our employees are proud to be part of our continuous success and are an essential part of achieving all that we do. It’s not just students that arrive at Loughborough for the first day of their future – we want our staff to feel the same too.
The University is dedicated to supporting an equitable, diverse, and inclusive environment – to create better futures, together. The diverse backgrounds, characteristics and opinions within our community are our great strength and are key to our pursuit of delivering educational excellence, enterprise, research, and professional services. We welcome applications from people from diverse backgrounds and minoritised groups as they are currently under-represented within our community.
We recognise the value of a fulfilling and balanced work and personal life which promotes wellbeing. We seek to support colleagues in achieving this balance and have family-friendly policies, flexible working arrangements and many roles can be suitable for dynamic working arrangements. This includes considering applications to work on a part-time, flexible and job share basis wherever possible.
Whether you’re looking to start or progress your career, we can provide a vibrant, dynamic experience. The atmosphere on campus is friendly and relaxed, and offers fantastic facilities for staff to use including sports facilities, food and drink establishments, a pharmacy, hairdressers, and a dentist.
Our excellent flexible benefits package is designed to offer support and incentives that fit in with, and appeal to all our staff across different career and life stages. These benefits include a generous holiday allowance; childcare support, discounted gym membership, and staff counselling. Staff can pick and choose the benefits they want to use throughout their time with us.
We’re a firm believer that employees should be recognised for their hard work and contribution to the University's growth and success. Our reward schemes help us deliver on this belief.
Recognition is awarded in the form of salary increases that are paid to an individual in addition to annual cost of living and incremental pay increases.
Employees can also be rewarded with a one-off cash payment. These payments are designed to recognise an individual’s outstanding contribution or performance, completed through short-term additional work or a one-off project.
Strong team work and collaborative working are extremely important to us here at Loughborough University, which is why we have a reward scheme for exceptional team performances too. The joint efforts of a team can be recognised with a non-cash award such as a theatre visit, golf tournament, spa visit, dining experience or wine tasting – the choice is yours!
Employees are entitled to up to 44 days annual leave per year. (Inclusive of Bank Holidays and University closure days.)
Loughborough University offers all employees the opportunity to join the Bupa Cash Plan 100 Scheme. Health cash plans are designed to help you cover the costs of some routine healthcare expenses and offer cash back towards a variety of health and well-being benefits, including dental and optical fees.
