About the Institute

CDUTCM-Keele Joint Health and Medical Sciences Institute is an MOE-approved Sino-foreign institute jointly established by Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CDUTCM), China and Keele University, UK. Officially launched in September 2023, it delivers a full-campus 4+0 dual-award scheme with two honours BSc programmes: Rehabilitation and Exercise Therapy and Public Health Management. All students hold dual registration at both universities and complete their full four-year studies in China. Year 1 cultivates core academic skills including academic writing, data literacy and cross-cultural competence for UK-standard undergraduate learning. Years 2-4 concentrate on specialized modules, hands-on vocational training and discipline-focused independent research, with joint teaching delivered by faculty from both partner institutions.

Keele University is a distinguished UK higher education institute, renowned for high-quality health science teaching and research. Holding a UK Teaching Excellence Framework Gold award (2023), Keele also frequently ranks highly in the Research Excellence Framework, whereby a large proportion of its research output is rated world-leading or internationally excellent. With decades of experience in developing international health science curricula, Keele possesses extensive global academic networks in public health, rehabilitation and allied health disciplines.

Opportunities for International Academics

International academics will teach motivated, internationally-oriented students receiving integrated Sino-British education. You will deliver UK-standard curricula, using student centred teaching and learning approaches, while adapting materials to local learning context. Members of the Joint Institute can access CDUTCM’s and Keele's research platforms and can also participate in Sino-UK joint research across public health, rehabilitation and integrative medicine.
