To fulfil this ambition we have launched a transformational initiative to Build Industry Engagement and Impact, improving how we partner with industry to unlock innovation and growth through problem-solving, collaboration and creativity.

At the heart of this initiative is the appointment of a cohort of outwardly-facing academics who will champion, lead and inspire research, collaborations and engagement with industry and business. We’re seeking candidates who have considerable experience either working in or collaborating with business or industry in order to accelerate York’s expertise in this area.

Applications are welcomed in any discipline(s) where a significant opportunity can be demonstrated to enhance our strategic business and industrial partnerships. We are interested in engaging with both researchers already in higher education and colleagues in industry/business seeking to move into an academic setting.

In this cohort, we intend to appoint 4 Research Professors and up to 8 Senior Research and Research Fellows (Industry/Business) alongside a Chair in Safety Systems in our highly successful Computer Science department.
