The salary will be paid at Grade 6, Research Associate, £33,518 per annum, plus £2,923 per annum London Allowance.

This post will be Fixed term for 6 months

This is a Full-time –  100 % full time equivalent

A Research Associate position (PhD graduate) in Nanomedicine is available for 6 months commencing in summer 2018 working on CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing of brain tumour cells using nanomedicines.  Applicants should have a relevant PhD degree and preferably post-doctorate experience ideally in Drug Delivery/Biology/Molecular Biology/Pharmacy/ /Biochemistry/Bioengineering/Toxicology/Chemistry/Material Science or any other relevant fields (Research Associate). Applicants in the stage of final submission of a PhD thesis and/or awaiting examination will be considered (Research Assistant) on exceptional basis.  Holding a Home Office (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 Licence or equivalent is advantageous.

Experience in one or more of the followings will be desirable: exosome research, CRISPR/Cas9 technology, non-viral and viral gene delivery, fusion proteins, primary cell culture, stem cell culture, molecular biology techniques (namely PCR and DNA/protein gels), gene-editing, neuroscience, nanomaterials synthesis and characterisation, radio-labelling of proteins and nanomaterials, in vivo tumour models establishment, in vivo bio-distribution and pharmacokinetic studies, and in vivo imaging. The position is funded by Brain Tumour Charity, UK.
