PDRA in Quasi-ambient Bonding

Loughborough University - Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering

Full Time, Fixed Term for 24 Months (this term will be reduced if appointed after April 2019 due to funding restrictions).

This project will explore the use of quasi-ambient bonding (QAB) with reactive nanofoils as a route to lowering the process time and thermal load in electronic assembly, which can enable cost-effective high temperature Pb-free solder interconnects. At the same time it will yield new fundamental insights into processes involving rapid solidification of complex alloys that will be of wide interest to the materials science and manufacturing research communities. This full time PDRA post for a fixed term of 24 months offers an exciting opportunity in applications and fundamental research on the novel QAB bonding process.

Application Closing Date: 20 June 2018

Loughborough University is committed to achieving equality and valuing diversity in all aspects of employment and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
