This EPSRC PhD I CASE award is based around the research and development of novel Electronic Medical Devices.
The successful candidate will work closely with a local electronics medical devices company based in the East Midlands. You will gain valuable experience in the research, design and development of medical devices that will eventually end up in hospital clinics around the world.
This 4 year PhD programme, commencing between 1 October 2018 and 1 March 2019 comes with a highly attractive annual tax free stipend of £20,000 with all fees covered by EPSRC.
The ideal candidate will have a first or upper second class honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or any other relevant and equivalent degree.
The skills required and to be developed further during this Industrial based PhD will typically consist of: opto-electronic sensors, analogue electronics, embedded processor based systems, signal processing, Matlab, C-programming, data analysis and the medical device regulatory process.
