About Central Film School:
Since being founded in 2008, Central Film School has provided students from all over the world with the tools needed to become professionals in the film industry. Through our BA (Hons), MA and Short Courses, we give students a grounding in all aspects of filmmaking, including both fiction and factual disciplines. Our approach is strongly practical, which is aided by our small class sizes, student-centred approach to teaching & learning, and the school’s ethos and community atmosphere. The school constantly develops its programmes, equipment and methodology to ensure students are familiar with the most up-to-date professional practices.
The Senior Lecturer- MA Programmes is a newly created position, with the key objective of leading the planning, delivery and enhancement of existing and new MA provision. The Senior Lecturer will balance teaching and programme management, and take the lead in developing three new MA programmes due for validation in the first half of 2019. There is a possibility for the role to be fractional.
To be student focused and act as a mentor, ensuring each cohort is provided with the academic and personal support they need to develop their skills and graduate with a portfolio of high-quality work.
Day-to-day coordination of MA programmes including all areas of learning, teaching, student assessment, timetabling and resource planning.
Academic leadership, management and enhancement of the MA provision, including development of programme documentation, assessment briefs and handbooks.
Teach across all MA programmes where appropriate, and work with the Head of Curriculum to recruit and retain highly experienced tutors.
Educated to at least MA level, preferably in the creative arts.
Professional practice experience in the screen industries.
Minimum three years experience in HE teaching and programme coordination.
Knowledge of current Higher Education policies, and a proven track record in Master of Arts academic frameworks.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills complemented by first-rate administration and project management skills.
Experience in the development and validation of new programmes, preferably at MA level.
A track record in nurturing talent and achieving a high level of student satisfaction.
A strong network of industry links, to assist with the development of graduate employability pathways and industry engagement with the School.
