An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Centre for Medical Education, providing professional academic support within our busy MSc programmes.  This lecturer role provides academic support for the MSc in Palliative Medicine for Healthcare Professionals (Level 7), working closely with staff, students and external stakeholders to do so. 

The main focus of the role is to supervise and support postgraduate students and to carry out academic administrative duties within the programmes as required. The post holder will have academic input into all aspects of the delivery of the programme, including face-to-face teaching, the marking of coursework, online educational activity and the supervision and marking of student dissertations. This will include creating innovative online teaching and assessment material in areas related to palliative medicine and healthcare and the pursuit of excellence in research-informed teaching, inspiring and enabling others to do the same.

The post holder will actively develop and undertake research-informed teaching (and activities relating to teaching), including the development, delivery and evaluation of the programmes.

Applicants should hold a healthcare qualification as a minimum and preferably a postgraduate qualification at level 7 (or equivalent) in a healthcare related subject. They should have experience in teaching palliative medicine and healthcare related concepts at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.

Salary: An appointment will be made subject to skills and experience at:

£32,548 - £38,833 per annum, pro-rata for hours worked (Grade 6) or
£41,212 - £47,722 per annum, pro-rata for hours worked (Grade 7)
