This is an ideal opportunity for a scholar with an outstanding research record and excellent teaching ability to join one of the leading philosophy departments in the United Kingdom. The post-holder will design and deliver modules in Ethics and/or Political Philosophy at multiple levels and contribute to postgraduate supervision for the Philosophy and Political Theory MAs and at PhD level. They will develop the Department’s research profile through the production of high quality research, where that research may have Impact beyond the academic community. Their specialist research area could be within Ethics, Political Philosophy or the intersection between them, perhaps including historical aspects of those subjects. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the Department’s presence within Sheffield’s Faculty of Arts and Humanities, the wider University and, through outreach and knowledge exchange, in Sheffield and beyond.

Applicants should have a PhD in Philosophy or a related subject area (or have equivalent experience), proven teaching ability, a very strong publication record in the area, and administrative skill.
