This is an outstanding opportunity to join a research project within the Usher Institute/ IGMM at the University of Edinburgh. Based at the Western General Hospital, the successful applicant will be responsible for the identification and recruitment of patients with symptoms suggestive of colorectal cancer in a new research study funded by CRUK.  Eligible patients will be identified and recruited from NHS endoscopy units, CT scanning units and colorectal units mainly from the Western General Hospital (Edinburgh) and Royal Infirmary (Edinburgh). The post-holder will be responsible for various aspects of study management including patient recruitment, blood sampling and the collection of study specific information.

Applicants should be a Registered Nurse with relevant post-registration experience in a clinical research environment. You must have a proven ability to work independently and the drive to push projects forward ensuring that relevant guidelines and regulations are adhered to. Attention to detail, excellent communication and organisational skills are essential for this post. In addition, applicants must have their own transport and be prepared to travel within Edinburgh and occasionally within Scotland. 

This is a full-time, fixed term position from December 2018 until 31st March 2020 with the possibility of extending tenure beyond this point.
