Warwick Law School is offering up to 2 PhD scholarships for applicants looking to start their studies in September 2019. Applicants may apply to study any Law discipline, but it is expected that the research proposal will be in line with the interests of an academic member of staff.

Before you submit your application, you must consult our staff directory to identify a potential supervisor who shares your research interests. You should make contact initially via email prior to submitting an application. While individual academics cannot make a decision to accept a given application, most successful applicants have contacted potential supervisors to secure in-principle interest in supervising their particular research project.

Please note that an expression of interest from a supervisor, or even their involvement in refining your proposal, is not a guarantee that your application will be successful.

To apply for a research degree, we expect you to have a Master degree in law with merit or equivalent (including a thesis or dissertation), and at least an upper second class (2:1) undergraduate degree.

Funding:  The scholarship will pay an annual stipend at the standard rate (currently £14,777) as well as tuition fees for 3 years and is open to Home, EU and International applicants. Applications for funding are made through the link provided after you’ve submitted an application for study.

The closing date for funding is 23.59pm (GMT) on 28 February 2019. Late applications will not be accepted and results will be communicated via e-mail by the end of April. Please do not enquire about the status of your application before this time.
