Investing in Academic Excellence
The School of Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering at City, University of London is offering 14 full-time, three-year doctoral studentships for 2019/20 entry. Applications are invited from exceptional and ambitious graduates wishing to pursue cutting-edge research in any of the School's key research areas.
The School is investing in academic excellence following its success in the REF 2014 which highlighted the world class quality of its research.
What is Offered
A doctoral studentship will provide:
•An annual bursary (£16,000 in 2019/20)
•Full tuition fee for students from the UK and within the European Union. We welcome applications from graduates of all nationalities, but those from outside the EU must make appropriate arrangements to cover the difference between Home and International tuition fees.

The studentships will be awarded on the basis of outstanding academic achievement and the potential to produce cutting edge-research. Prospective applicants must:
- Hold a good honours degree in an appropriate subject. Exceptionally, if a first degree is not in a relevant subject area, we can consider applications from those with a good Master Degree or extensive professional experience in the area of their proposed research;
Consider the research undertaken in our School and identify an area in which you can make a contribution and a supervisor or Research Centre/Group with whom you could work. You will need to formulate a proposal and are strongly encouraged to discuss your ideas and application with a potential supervisor. Copies of Degree Certificates and Transcripts in official English translation – original will be requested before an offer is made.

Proof of English Language proficiency as described above if English is not your first language.
