The Leipzig Postgraduate Scholarship in Modern European History
The Leipzig Scholarship in Modern European History was established to enable a student open to applicants interested in undertaking study into Modern European History.
We are a diverse community of practitioners, scholars and academics who teach, research, and provide professional development. Our postgraduate students come from a wide variety of geographical and personal backgrounds, and it is the vibrant and dynamic community which they create that completes the student experience.
The MA in Modern History offers you the opportunity to work with a group of historians who continue UEA’s long-standing reputation as a major centre for the study of modern European, British, and international history. We have a unique and distinctive concentration of expertise in European history in the 19th and 20th centuries, especially that of Russia, Germany, France, Italy, and Yugoslavia. We also hold one of the largest groups of modern British historians in the country, specializing in particular in social, political, and imperial history. Other colleagues contributing to the MA programme include experts in refugee studies, the history of human rights, modern Japan, and US diplomatic history.
In the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014), UEA was ranked third in the UK for research intensity in History (Times Higher REF 2014 Analysis). The breadth and depth of our expertise is reflected in the programme, which encourages scholarly debate and independent research.
This course is also available on a part-time basis.
The Leipzig Scholarship in Modern European History is worth £6,250, available as a tuition fee discount.
How to Apply Scholarship applications for 2019 entry are now open. The deadline is 12 noon on Friday April 26th 2019.
