The English Department seeks to make a 0.5 FTE professorial appointment in Creative Writing with specialism in Creative Nonfiction; preference may be given to candidates with additional expertise in Publishing or in one of the Department’s other core research areas. The post-holder will have significant creative nonfiction publications; they will undertake the normal teaching, research, and administrative duties expected of a senior member of the Department. In all areas they will be expected to show leadership appropriate to their position. The ability to teach at any level within the area of expertise, and across a range of subjects at a more introductory level, is essential. The post is 17.5 hours per week and permanent, starting from 1 September 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. The starting salary is £67,181 per annum pro rata. Benefits include 30 days annual leave pro rata, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
