The School of Entrepreneurship (SCENT) is a research group of excellence at the University of Padova, Italy. At the School of Entrepreneurship we carry out world-leading research which makes a difference to policy, professional practice, business performance and the wellbeing of communities. To expand our research portfolio, the School of Entrepreneurship is now seeking outstanding doctoral candidates with expertise in data management and with a statistical background. The School seeks outstanding, creative, and collegiate researchers interested in exploring contemporary issues in early stage entrepreneurship, technology-based startups, academic entrepreneurship, corporate entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial intentions and entrepreneurial ecosystem research. The Role

Successful candidate will join a growing team of researchers within the School of Entrepreneurship. Working closely with the research staff at SCENT, you will be directly involved in planning and executing research leading to publications in recognized conferences and high quality journals. This will include taking responsibility on the design and execution of data collection and analysis, identification and synthesis of previous research contributions, and developing journal publications.

The candidate

You must have a Master Degree in a related discipline. You must be capable of working within a group of researchers and have experience in developing journal publications and/or conference presentations. You will need to have sufficient knowledge of the dominant paradigms, theories and empirical methods applicable to entrepreneurship. Candidates should have sufficient experience in data collection and quantitative analyses.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English would also be an advantage.

Admission to the SCENT group is competitive and selective, as only a limited number of places is available.

Candidates are recruited nationally and internationally and will be admitted to the programme only after careful selection. To be eligible for the programme, the prospective candidate should submit the followings:

  • Applicant’s Curriculum Vitae
  • Research Proposal
  • A copy of their last Degree Diploma (minimum master’s degree)
  • A list of publications, if applicable.
