In recognition of the importance of managing data throughout the entirety of the Research Project Lifecycle the Arthritis Research UK Centre for Epidemiology (CfE) seek to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Research Information Governance Manager (RIGM) to manage and lead the Centre’s research data management requirements. The RIGM will be fully conversant with current research data management practices and, the information governance landscape internally and externally and will act as a conduit between the academics and the stakeholders such as policy makers and data custodians.
The RIGM will provide support and training to Centre staff and students on a range of data issues such as working with special category data, data linkage, anonymisation techniques, data sharing, and the storing and handling of data.
You will be a key point of contact for researchers requiring advice on all aspects of research data management including external funder requirements, funding and ethics applications, and external data provider requirements. Either providing advice directly or liaising with the relevant central support service.
The RIGM will be responsible for enabling the access, receipt, processing and trusted sharing of data primarily healthcare data. . You will work with the all stakeholders including external data providers such as NHS Digital and third party collaborators. You will help to ensure any solutions designed and provisioned facilitate researchers within CfE in answering their research question whilst also complying with the guidelines provided by funding bodies and governmental organisations.
Working with the CfE Director and the Senior Management Team the RIGM will develop standard operating procedures, data access rules for researchers (jointly with the data custodians), oversight and regular audit adherence to the highest governance standards.
