An opportunity has arisen in the School of Chemistry to join the Trio Sci Cymru programme as Project Manager.
Trio Sci Cymru is an exciting programme (supported by European Social Funds via the Welsh Government) which focusses on delivering science engagement activities to secondary school aged pupils (years 7-9) throughout Wales. Cardiff University will be working with schools in the region to deliver Bioscience, Chemistry and Physics activities.
Based within the School you will be responsible for managing the Chemistry in the 3rd Dimension programme. This role will require development of the classroom activities along with training of others who are part of the programme.
The classroom based activities will incorporate current research of various aspects of chemistry which will be delivered by cutting edge 3D simulation to provide an engaging and unique experience for pupils.
In addition to development of activities you will be responsible for the day to day delivery of activities throughout schools in the region. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring forecasted metrics are met and financial regulations of the programme are followed.
You will be working as part of a small team and will support the training and development of the project officer and ambassadors who will visit schools as part of this programme. You will be required to work effectively with other members of this team and liaise with other School and University staff as necessary. You will be expected to make a significant personal contribution to the day to day running of the Chemistry in the 3rd Dimension component of Trio Sci Cymru, providing advice and contributing to the development of its’ objectives.

The position is available immediately on a fixed term contract ending 31st March 2022, 35 hours per week with variable working hours due to travel to schools within the region.
