Applications are invited for a full-time Lectureship in Architecture and Environment. The post holder will be expected to be an active researcher with a recognised specialism and track record of publication and/or funding in the field of architecture and contemporary environmental design studies which has a clear interface with social, political, economic aspects of contemporary practice and policy in the global built environment. Evidence of the ability to situate a disciplinary specialism in wider cultural and societal contexts is desirable. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to a lively and internationally recognised research culture at the intersections of architecture, landscape architecture, urbanism and the creative arts, reflecting ESALA’s distinctive position in the University’s Edinburgh College of Art. Potential to contribute to building productive interdisciplinary connections in architectural and environmental design research that connect with the University of Edinburgh/ Heriot Watt University Edinburgh Strategic Alliance’s existing strengths in innovative design, hybrid design processes and digital media, health, wellbeing and environment, global cities, spatial planning and place, history and heritage, urban theory and practices, sustainable cities is desirable.

This is a full-time, open-ended position tenable from 1 July 2019.

Salary Scale: UE08, £40,792 - £48,677
