The University of Westminster is embarking on an exciting period of growth. The School of Accounting and Finance is seeking to recruit the best staff talent to meet the emerging priorities for delivering excellence and demonstrating higher levels of performance in meeting student experience objectives. The subject area is one of the University’s star performers, with exceptional NSS and PTES student satisfaction scores and extensive professional recognition and accreditations. The School hosts three Masters’ courses: an MSc in Finance and Accounting, an MSc in Finance with pathways in Banking/ International Finance and an MSc in Investment and Risk Finance. The School also offers two popular undergraduate degrees - BSc Accounting and BSc Finance - and contributes to a range of general business management courses. We are a CISI Centre of Excellence and a CFA UAP.

We are looking to recruit a talented and high performing individual who has demonstrated expertise in any of the following subject areas: financial markets and institutions, computational finance and financial engineering. A candidate with strong analytical and/or computational finance backgrounds, together with excellent teaching and research records in finance is preferred for this academic appointment. You will join a team of highly qualified, expert and enthusiastic lecturers and researchers. The successful candidate is expected to be capable of working harmoniously in a close team-based environment, supporting management and showing capabilities of taking on academic leadership responsibilities. 

You will contribute to areas such as international risk management, modern portfolio management, financial derivatives, entrepreneurial finance, banking, fixed income markets, High Frequency Trading and other areas experiencing rapid growth in this discipline. You will be expected to be capable of contributing significantly to our ambitious drive for growth. A progressive, compassionate and responsible set of personal values are desirable along with strong personal attributes to work with our staff and student communities. You will contribute to the planning, design and development of courses, modules and assessment.

As a Senior Lecturer, you will have a PhD or appropriate relevant work experience in the profession and/or industry, supported by evidence, which demonstrates you are a recognised expert with an authoritative understanding of your specialised field or discipline. You will also be a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. You will have gained this knowledge through very broad and extensive experience, having built on a sound understanding of concepts and principles, through your wide and significant exposure to complex practices and precedents, within either industry, consultancy or private practice.
