A vacancy has arisen for a temporary full-time Lecturer role in Human Geography, within the Faculty of Arts, Science and Technology. The post is fixed term for 12 months or when the postholder returns from maternity leave, whichever is soonest.
Applicants should have a PhD in Human Geography, with a specialism in geographies of sport, and a demonstrable track record of teaching and assessing within a Higher Education environment.
The successful applicant will be part of a team responsible for the planning, development and delivery of undergraduate Geography programmes. The person appointed will carry out a teaching programme across a range of curriculum areas, which may include geographies of sport, migration and population geography, urban geography, research methods, and dissertation supervision. In addition, the successful applicant will support fieldwork activities, and will undertake research and scholarly activity relevant to the role.
The Department of Environmental and Geographical Science delivers a broad range of on-campus biology, geography and environmental science provision at undergraduate level and environmental/wastes management programmes of study at masters level. In addition, the Department delivers off-campus distance learning provision in cleaning science and wastes management at undergraduate and environmental/wastes management at postgraduate level.
